From 2009. Taken in Dublin, Ireland. One of the first few shots I took with the (then new) Nikon D700. Seeing the gathering of people following a car, in an event I gather had to be the last walk - the funeral parade. A picture taken at the decisive moment for a double meaning to be conveyed in some small from.

Crossing the Border.

Walking the streets of Hong Kong in the last days of February in 2009, I noticed a scene about to happen just a few meters in front of me, that had a special draw to me. It felt like there was something secret, something tender and curious, about to happen. In a fraction of a second I drew my camera like a cannon - pointed and shot. So disrupting the moment. This is the result.

Kiss: the Intrusion.

A revisit to 2009 through a work: "A Penny for Your Memories". Shot in northern Finland in Pudasjärvi (and in 2009).

Taken in an old shed - a now shabby, 'bachelor pad' for a teen boy. A place now filled with two sets of memories. All material in the photo is as it was in the shed. The thanks go to the beautiful model, who held steadfast and endured through the mosquito filled photo shoot. And there were literally thousands of mosquitos around. Shot with one small strobe which was reflected through a golden reflector and various other paraphernalia.

A Penny for Your Memories.

Please let me know what you think.

The Stormy Post

3 min read
I just counted, that I've got more than 200 good quality images unprocessed and thousands of images from shoots of 2009 and 2010 to go through still.... There are still some from Hong Kong, many from Ireland and tons from Finland and Norway. Still, I find it hard to get back to the 'old stuff' and process them through and instead I did this: The Storm-Run

The Storm-Run was shoot during a two-three week voyage in Malaysia and Northern thailand in February-March 2010. It was the monsoon season and heavy but warm rains were the norm during the evenings. Going through subway/walkway in Kuala Lumpur during one of these moments of fall, I saw the staircase with amazingly beautiful light shining through and immediately got this picture in my mind. I though that, if I only wait for awhile, in a big city like this, someone is sure to jump-start a run towards or away from me. Biding my time, this was the result - The Storm-Run.
