A sister work to: [link]

Originally couldn't decide on which way to go, black and white or coloured... I saw the image as a striking battle between the big and the small - like something dangerous was gonna happen, and my girl saw it as a more of a colourful dream. Shows how the same image can really be perceived in different ways when you use b & w or colour - or just plain see it with different eyes and mind.

Blue filter added to the top sky as the clouds were kinda grey on top when the tones on the rest of the sky were just beautiful. :) Otherwise just minor dodging and burning involved. Tried to be extra careful with the sharpening (or prob dodging) as the 'sister' got some deserved/not-deserved critique on it... Perfectionist and a people pleaser till the end... :)

Wow this is amazing, I love it, such an emmense landscape, With the tiny boat at the bottom of the rock face.
This is an utter mountain appearance.
I like the subtle colours too they are perfect, you mentioned you weren't sure as to wheather to do this in black and white?
I am a great lover of black and white and would love to see the difference in the two.
Havng said that I like the blues and greens against that lovely grey skyline this must have been a perfect oppertunity as it is just right, having the boat at the base of the mountain "as I see it" shows the sheer enormety of the natural power.
I adore nature pics largely because they cannot really be changed for the better.
Nature is the best artist this world has and you have created a fabulous vision from this, and of course your title has given this piece the grandure it truely desrves.
Do give the black and white a shot if you can I would like to see if it detracts in any way from what you have achieved here.
It is awesome the way the sun light spills from behined the cloud and actualy creates and aura around the rock face too, again providing an almost etheric effect to the whole scene.
With a little bit of visionary immagination on the viewers part you can almost see a face in there too(unless that is just me).
A marvelous piece, I love it.<img class="avatar" src="a.deviantart.net/avatars/x/p/x…" alt=":iconxpose-it:" title="Xpose-it"/>
